When it comes to desserts, I love anything peanut butter and chocolate. I'm pretty sure I inherited this from my mom. Since her birthday was coming up, I decided to make her a chocolate peanut butter cake. To do this, I wanted to make peanut butter frosting. I enjoy improvising with recipes, so I decided to try making a really simple, quick peanut butter frosting. It turned out well, and only took about 5 minutes to whip together!
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 block cream cheese (8 ounces)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
Directions:
- Soften the cream cheese by allowing it to sit out for 30 min to an hour, or by microwaving it for about 20 seconds.
- Mix the cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk for about 3 minutes until it is well blended.
For my mom's birthday cake, I made a chocolate cake in a 13x9 pan. I then poked holes throughout the surface and poured melted chocolate frosting over the whole top. Next, I spread the peanut butter frosting on. Lastly, I added crushed Reese's cups. It was delicious!
